Was testing the batch of old equipment (see the 3-phase thread). Smelled something burning. Looked just in time to see a mushroom cloud eminate from the wire feed unit (case was open):

Funny, it kept working. The cap is easy to replace. This is one of the big problems with old stuff. The caps dry out, leak and have a habit of going nuclear
