This is what happens when your dividing head is just a bit too big...

Needed to make a 12 hole insert for a gear cutter so I can replicate the rake. Problem was I couldn't fit the smallest dividing head under the biggest machine...

This was after trying the Fritz..
And failing to fit the universal head on the Richmond - because it needed the overarm casting moved right back, but the wall is in the way..

So 60 degrees on the dividing head and the Town Woodhouse looks like it will do it. It was only after I set it up I realised I could have done this on the Fritz...

Hmm, three mills, don't really need them, they are all different and useful in their own way - the TW is so light and versatile, the Richmond is a universal horizontal with vertical and universal heads but doesn't have a quill obviously, and the fritz is a heavy vertical with a quill, and loves flycutting. If anything I'm leaning towards selling the fritz...

It's a really nice machine to use, light yes, but sometimes that's good, the flexibility in terms of what it can do is enormous. I've yet to crack the slotting head though - it doesn't have a "klacker", so the tool rubs on the work on the way up, with the wrong tool - disaster, it takes the tip off.
I'm wondering if I should machine up a clacker for it - or do I just need the right tooling?
