thinners recycling???

Anybody have any experience of thinners recycling machines? I produce a fair quantity of waste thinners as do some other firms I know (I must have 100 gallon or so at the moment). Ive heard of thes machines before but i have no experience of them and in all fairness dont even know any suppliers but if they work well and not silly money I would consider getting one as i could see it saving me money in the future.

$6000 to $25.oo dollars for the still still thinkin of getting one

If it's a still I could find a better use for it than reclaiming paint thinners. Do you need a licence to operate still these days?

If I could get one for around 2 grand it would be worth the expense as i spend 200ish a month on thinners/gun wash then there is tipping costs for waste paint/dirty thinners etc. Also im sure i could recycle for a couple of other firms as well so i dont think it would take long for it to pay for itself. Ive seen some for sale in the U.S. but i cant seem to find any suppliers over here.

yes i repaired one at a school where i do work for . they have a licence to produce a certain amount of alcahol

A friend of mine used to sell them in Indonesia, it worked by vacuuming it to boil it off then condensing it, it worked very well. He sold them to printers as well, in fact all sorts of people which volatile chemicals. Sadly, he died some years back and I can't remember the brand.

The thought of some cobbled together fractionating unit using recycled domestic electrical devices handling very low flash point flammables gives me the heeby-jeebies!
Have you seen some of the plans for the methanol handling side of DIY FAME production?
