Hi there,
I'm a sculptor, currently in my fourth year of art school. I've decided I want to do welding for my major series. What I'd like to do is create a series of dresses made of metal, I'm trying to create a contrast between the harsh texture of metal and the soft, feminine ideal of dresses (I could get more into it if anyone is interested
). Anyway, my question. I'm looking to use metal that is lightweight, something that I can cut easily if needed. It doesn't have to be incredibly flexible. I would be working by welding together strips or something like patchwork. Forgive my amateur nature, I'm just not familiar with many types of metal and where I can get them.
Any input on what I could use? Any help at all is greatly appreciated ever if it's a "no way in hell".
Thanks!
