Thin alloy repair

Hello

Can anyone give me any advice on a job I need to have done on my motorbike crankcase?
The short story is I had to grind out some of the alloy
to accomodate hi-lift cams, and went too far!

Ive been told to JB Weld it, by the fellow that sells the kits
as the hole is in a place where there is no a lot of pressure.
But if it was feasible to get it tig welded, I reckon
the job would be better long term.

The alloy is currently about 1mm, and needs to be built up.
Ive got a couple of photos of the damage.
The one larger hole is not a problem as an oil seal goes there and will apparently seal it ok, it happens a lot.
The hole I need fixed more pressingly is the hole at the back in pic 1
and also shown in pic 2.
Im hopefull that a good welder can do it.

That looks easy enough to tig weld, I do quite a few repairs like this for a local bike repair shop, you'll need to put a temporary chill or plate inside to minimise the penetration into the bearing housing,(unless you can machine it out after), welding it would take me about 10 mins I reckon.

Thanks for the reply Paul, that sounds encouraging anyway,
so a good tig fellow will do this easy?
What got me worried was this, my brother in law is a fabricator,
loads of years welding, but really he mostly does steel mig work.
Recently, like in the last few weeks, they got him to try some tig on alloy.

When I showed him this case, he said he couldnt do it,
the initial heat would just blow it away.
But of course with no disrespect to him, he aint really
experienced in tig or alloy, so I thought to ask! Im glad I did so far!

As you can see in this photo theres a kind of step that
I went too far back into.
I need it built up, and then I can reshape it with a dremmel.
What cost would you imagine a job like this should be Paul?
Just the welding, and only an educated guess of course.

As I said its a small job, I charge a minimum 1hr, to cover the cost of invoicing etc, so about £30 ish I would have thought just for welding, or you may get someone to do it for a beer token or two.

thats a doddle of a repair. a good ali welder can chop a coke can in half and weld it back together do you have a zoomed out picture to show how tight the space is?

I do have a zoomed out photo now, but the jobs been done!
You can bet I was lot more carefull taking the metal back this time.
I got it done for £20, a great bargain and a job well done.
Thanks to Paul on here for inspiring me look for a welder instead
of listening to hearsay, and using glue like was suggested!
