Mine seems a bit crisper on starts than yours. Bloody love the machine though, so glad I got one now.
Do you ever run yours up near the maximum? Can't remember what your torch is rated at...
That is just the way the GP2's are setup, I think it could be to do with minimising HF interference when these are interfaced to robotic cells (which a lot of them end up on, they have a robot interface terminal block inside them). I didn't have this set on pulse, the noise change is due to the mixed tig switching between DCEN and AC.
I will get a lens taped over the front of the camera and try my best to get some arc shots. I'm using Mobius action cameras which are tiny (pack of tictac's size) so might even be able to mount one onto my wrist/arm/hand/finger etc...
Had to send pedal back to Cowlins as they had fitted wrong value pot to foot-pedal, and also a wiring problem. Yours looks like its had a lot less of a hard life than mine though, so its probably going to work a bit better. Seen the GP4 SMP are advertising on Ebay? Looks like very little use at all, but not sure they are going to get £2k for it?
The pot in my pedal died the other day, it developed a duff spot at about 1/3 travel. I managed to find a suitable replacement in Farnell and was back up and running a day later. They are 5k 2w linear if you ever need to do it again. Needs a 2" shaft though.
I have seen the GP4, personally I don't see the attraction. Apparently they have frequency adjustment (but I can't see where on the front panel) but they are 25% larger than the GP2 and don't have the current control on a pendant which is a nice benefit of the GP2.
