Thermal Overload Indication not going back to normal state

I'm not the clever folk that Parm mentioned but could you give us more info about what the machine is? Make and model?
And if you bypass the overload switch does the device work as normal?

Could it be that the outside temperature is too high to allow the thermal switch to reset?

As skotl suggested, to be able to help you we need more information about the make & model of the machine.
Please be aware that "Overtemperature" warning lights are often also used as a general fault indicator.

Is the machine new? What was the condition of the machine and the working environment just prior to the indicator lighting up? Had you been using it for a long time with a high load? Was the machine working correctly just before the light went on?
