Thermal Arc 175 stick/TIG?

Are these machines any good as i am on the look out for my first TIG set. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THERMAL-A...263?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a1885e7df Ive posted recently about a Parweld XTI160 and am curious as to which is better. I have used Thermal Arc Migs and really like them but im totally in the dark about TIG sets. I would imagine the Thermal Arc would be the superior as it has more amps? Another question, what thickness of steel/stainless would i be likely to weld with either machine?

I have also been watching a Cobel 200 amp Tig set and a 160amp SIP Tig set. The cobel seems to get mixed reviews as does the SIP but would the 200 amp Cobel be a better choice over Thermal Arc as it is more powerful?

I'm torn between a few machines now and totally oblivious as to which i should go for.

I have a thermal arc mig welder and have no complaints ,never used there tig sets although I know some lads that would swear by there ac/dc tigs,remember you would have to buy a tig torch etc to go with that set to...most people seem to be going R-tech for cheaper tigs ,I've used 2 and they appear good value , it may pay to start a new post "best budget Tig?" and give people an idea what projects you have in mind ....

I've got the thermal arc and its a good little welder... Nice and light, cheap and has been reliable for the little I've done with it. I've not really tested properly as it was bought only for repair/site welding around the farm but for £215 it's a bargain. Can't tell you about the Tig side of things but the arc is great...

I think I'll do just that, I should of thought of that myself. I appreciate the input I just want to make sure Im not wasting money on a machine I won't enjoy using, as sad as it sounds I love MIG 'ing and know a good machine makes it all the more enjoyable.
