Theraputic tig welding? Really!

I think most welding jobs are like most plastering and bricklaying jobs. Total pants really, but nowt else for it.
All these jobs mean there is no rocking you at night for a sleep

You are all jaded misery guts!!! I find welding therapeutic and love it as a HOBBY!! I would never do it as a job as the routine would take the fun out if it. I have a nice welding bay set up in my workshop just like the one I learnt in at college complete with extraction. I often just go and run beads for the hell of it. I also do a lot of out of position stuff fixing things on bikes, the Landrover and for friends.

Whenever you turn a hobby into a job the shine goes of it. I am a commercial pilot and all my Private Pilot friends dream of doing my job. But once you are good at it and then stuck in the routine of crap routes and stop overs the dream is a little different to the reality. I enjoy the job because of the sense of satisfaction I get from doing it well.

BUT.... My hobby is not flying, its doing stuff in my workshop.........

We are currently welding at 65amps and will shortly be arriving at the end of the bead. Please do not lift your masks until the welding has come to a complete stop.

I hate the front corners of cages, always upside down, neck cricked in the footwell, light coming the wrong way through the doorhole so you can't see well. Pain in the ****.
