Came across this site whilst trying to find a spare part for one of my machines.

Looks like there is a lot of good information and knowledgeable people on here.

welding is only a secondary skill for me, I am an electrican by trade but my apprenticeship was dual skilled so mechanical as well.

I'm also currently really struggling for work after a reduction in workload from one of the main companies I work for meaning they won't use subbies anymore, and another contract fell though at the last minute in December.

If things don't improve soon i will be selling some gear off.

I'm particularly interested to hear what your experience of BFT has been.

I mostly use CAME and BFT if I want hydraulic.

I had a bit of trouble with BFT electomechanical when it first came out and a troublesome Lux 2b. There used to be a supplier in Rotherham, but their technical department was poor for anything but the basics everyone already know.

It was the electronic control circuits that seamed to cause problems they didn't seam that robust and were easily effected by rain snow etc. Once did two sliding gates and had problems getting them in sink so they shut together. I have the name and mobile for the top tech bloke who is very helpful if you like i can PM it you.

When I can get people to pay the extra, the contol panel and it's box go into an IP65 enclosure for extra protection.

Sliding gates are different with the board being inside the motor housing. I have seen a good few boards go smoke due to slugs and spiders getting across the PCB. With the cables coming in through the bottom some expanding foam is useful around the cable entries.

Design change I would like to see on all electric gates control panels is proper capacitor mounts and plug in relays (relays being the main fault on boards other than external influences).

I seem to be out of the game at the moment, othwise that number would be useful I am sure.
