So it's been 4 years since I moved in to my current workshop, during which time it's mostly been a dumping ground while I've moved house twice and extended family have used it as a storage area. Recently I've cleared enough space to work on one vehicle at a time, and my plan for spring is to get it in to a fully functional workshop.
There are a few things I'd like to add to really get the most out of the place, so would welcome advice from anyone with experience in the following:
Two post lift
Vehicles to be lifted are VW Amarok, Renault Master, Ford Fiesta, Audi A4 and Morris Minor. I've got my eyes on a TwinBusch model with a clear floor, as it will be spanning my loading bay. Anyone any thoughts or experience of alternative brands?
Fixture Table
I built my current welding table when I had limited working area, so it's not the largest, although it is nice and portable (on flat ground, at least!). I like the idea of a fixture table, would like it to be at least 2m x 1m and semi-portable (castors or pallet truck/stacker would be acceptable). I see. Are all fixture tables alike, or should I be rating some over others? Also, is there any good reason not to order as self-asseembly and put it together myself? Something like this appeals:
Air Dryer / Filter for painting
I'll finally be plumbing my compressor back in, which has 36cfm of air. I used to spray Tractol in my old workshop with basic filtration, but have some water-based painting to do soon (vehicle maintenance). Any recommendations on a 3 stage filter or air dryer. Do I need both?
I've still got a bit of tidying up to do, so probably got a couple of months pondering time before I commit to any of the above but any input welcome.
