Anyone else use the internet for most of their purchases?

I find click & collect fantastic, I hate walking around shops trying to find things & people standing in your way.

Also on eBay 99% of the time I find what I want, Saves me even attempting to try any local shops wasting my time & fuel. Waiting a couple of days for a delivery is never a big issue generally

Are other people's thoughts similar?

Still pop into bedford/mk to the retail parks and occasionally fpr shops like cex

I still cant understand how things can still be more expensive in Wickes with a 10% trade discount as the exact same product in Toolsation when its the same parent company.

I cant understand how travis perkins is more expensive than wickes when there the same company. Lol.

Dont use them often but useful for pricing jobs up.

Selco have most of what I need for small jobs. Cls c16 planed etc

Large jobs il fire of a list to a few of the yards for prices.

Dont use them often but useful for pricing jobs up.

I binned Travis Perkins off years ago, As they were a rip off. Not even competitive on anything I needed.

I wish my local yard had an online site, Nothing worse than going upto a trade counter not knowing what size timber they offer. Generally their prices are pretty good tbf

Selco are pretty good. Hassle them in store for discount.
Bit of a trek to Bletchley for you though.


If i visit tp in Bletchley I get good prices.
Go to bedford and I get my trousers pulled down.
Jewsons flitwick treat me ok given I dont buy In huge quantities.

I buy quite a lot of electrical products on line. Local wholesalers take the pee on prices. just bought an 9 inch expelair roof fan of the net 160 quid cheaper and they wonder why you don't get much off them

I think I have mentioned this before:

Went to my local Travis Perkins for 10 sheets of plasterboard, it sounded expensive so went on ebay and there was a guy from 200 miles away would deliver it next day and save me 20%.

Next day my local TP dropped off the sheets

Apparently this bloke is such a huge buyer he gets a major discount, sits in his bedroom taking orders and directs them to the nearest TP to the buyer....well done him for such a clever business.

Great for certain things. Cheese coffee sugar beans and there meats always good.

Yeah it's a shame there isn't a Selco in Bedford or Northampton! I'm sure they will eventually arrive
