Luckily our present H&S guy has "come up through the ranks" so applies the company H&S policies sensibly, unlike the previous one who had lots of letters after his name but little practical experience, e.g. we needed a hot work permit to weld in a welding cell!

Yes, they are designed for multiple impacts, if there are any cracks present in the hat then its dead.. When the cradle is pressed in its done with 15kg press, I cant comment on what forces are used during the QA testing but its fair wack they get..

a hat in a scrap yard isnt going to be subjected to masive forces, compared to having a brick dropped on it from a 5 story building anyway.
