Not stupid, its not a tool you'd ever come across unless you're playing with lenses. Yes, a little pin spanner. Here's a picture of a cheap one from eBay; Lots of lenses have the front element (and often more inside) held in with a threaded ring with two slots of holes to engage with a tool...

I've just started making a frame for a 3/4 size bed.

The ends are 100x50 rectangular section. these will be joined by 75x50 rectangular down the sides which will be bolted on.

At the moment i have plastic caps to go in the uprights to act as feet.

A couple of pics of things up to this morning.

The corners are a bit rough and i might have to use body filler to smooth them out before painting.

Wait, make a bed out of metal? Life has come the full circle, when I was younger I was always on the hunt to salvage beds for the angle to be turned into other projects

some people even make wooden pallets out of coffee tables...or is it the other way around?!

As a kid I bashed my shins on my Vono iron framed bed too many times.

When I was 4 years old, I slept together with my mother on such a grid. There was only a net, no backs, and it stood on overturned one-liter glass jars. The mattress doesn't touch the floor.

I saw pretty good bed designs, but I didn’t think to save the links. For example, a "floating in the air" bed. But a significant design flaw - the headboard was bolted to the wall.
