I've wall mounted my diesel heaters so that they take up less space. I then bought some power tool fuel hose to plumb it all up. It's the stuff often comes in a yellow tinge, used on chain saws, lawn mowers, strimmers, etc. My theory was that such hose is designed to run close to an engine and would therefore be adequately heat proof for a diesel heater where it comes awfully close to the hot exhaust.
It arrived today and I tested it with a heat gun. It's pretty heat proof, but not as heat proof as the green hose that comes fitted to some Chinese diesel heaters.
Anyone know what the green hose on diesel heaters is made of ?
In the mean time I've fitted the yellow hose with some heat proof sleeving over it (as used to protect wires in commercial ovens).
