Another thanks to Fizzy's help as the resident shipping expert, who's company organized a Rover v8 engine from a P38 that I bought to make its way through the myriad of export paperwork and arrive here, despite me being a private individual with no company, and for the seller not wanting to get involved with posting outside the UK either. Great service, would recommend!

Now its in the corner of the barn and I get to leer over it while I'm in there getting some other jobs finished off. My precioussss...

By an amazing coincidence the seller is also a regular company that uses us although this wasn't known until we got involved - small World
We can ship standard pallets anywhere in Europe B2B. If it is a private individual though there is only one service prepared to take it and they insist on things being crated not just palletised. Luckily the seller was happy to do this.

I will start a thread when it has progress, but first Its going into the cnc to be machined for top hat liners & some other stuff. Then it will be dropped into yet another LR project.
Not wanting to wreck a completely good block doing this for the first time and making the fixtures etc to hold it, I was also happy when someone else on the continent volunteered to swap of a "coffee table" suitable block for two 3.5's that had been vapour blasted that I had spare. And its turned up since the other and apart from two scuffed liners that probably would hone out if you weren't picky... Some people have expensive tastes in coffee tables is all I will say.

I've got a spare V8 block, heads, crank etc., that was destined for a coffee table, all vapour blasted but been sat in the shed for a while.

I have a 4.5 rover v8 crank with leyland part numbers I show to people to confuse them and start arguments that rage over several beers before I tell them its a proto crank that escaped destruction somehow, I should put it on a display lump of wood in the office one day.

I gave away the 3.5 v8 that I'd been stepping around for too long last week. Tonight it paid off, the new owner dropped off a couple of beer tickets behind the bar at the pub...
