Teng Tools Spanners

I've just received some spanners from Teng, I bought them because I had a small ratchet set before and though the quality was excellent. These look really poorly made. I am really disappointed with them.
I remember always being taught that good spanners and sockets never have pointed teath. these do though ? What do you make of them.
It's quite hard to make out I hope you can see what im talking about. Also I know it's nothing major but they cant even make a box so the spanners are the right way up as you can see the spanners are all upside down.

I'm not sure what that is ?. I was always sure that having pointy teeth that they were less durable ?

try them with a nut, how do they sit?. From the photos they don't look that bad.

flank drive would be a shape that drives on the flat of the nut not the corners , differant brands have each have thier own name for it

Oh I see.
I will try it on some nuts and bolts and see what the fit is like.

Much of my tool kit is 1960s Britool when it was a quality brand . Latterly when I was in business and could charge tools to the business and loose the vat it was Snap- on . Now retired and watching the pennies but still dabbling I've bought some Beta and Teng and have to say I have no issues with Teng. I recently needed an extra long 10mm combination spanner and could only find it from Snap-on and Teng. The Teng was half the price of the Snap-on who's local franchisee couldn't be bothered to reply to voice mail or email, it is nicely finished and I'm sue will be fine for my use.

I either buy teng or facom for work never had a problem, can't say as i've ever heard the thing about sharp teeth.

They look fine to me, as above, its flank/wall drive or whatever Teng call it.
Most spanners seem to be like that now from what I have seen.

I have a fair bit of Teng gear at work
It gets used hard never been a problem with it

Following a recent thread, check if you have to register, send off paperwork etc. to qualify for the guarantee.

someone found out thier silverline lifetime warrenty wasnt worth jack the other day

If there's any paperwork mentioning lifetime guarantee check the smallprint, you may have to register it.

As said they are wall/flank drive, the size given on the box packaging indicates this as they can be used on metric and imperial fittings,
e.g. 11mm & 7/16
similar to my metrinch set which I've had for 20+ years

They look terrible, just so you dont make a complete loss I will give you a fiver for them and some empty John Smiths cans
