Telescopic Gauges

Telescoping gauges are handy and can give very accurate results if used in the correct manner. I have an old set I bought 30 years ago, can't recall the make but maybe Draper or similar. I imagine the current offerings from Draper etc will be nowhere like these though
I also have a set of ball gauges which work well for small holes but hardly ever use the as it is not often I go below 4mm and I have 3 point bore micrometres for that and up to 150mm.

I have a set of those made by Moore and Wright, early stuff, bought second hand one of the set has been used to open a paint can! (maybe not a paint tin but whatever it was did it no good!)

I've a set as well. Used one of them once, so far. Even then I had to strip it and clean the hard grease before I could use it. Now I've an ultrasonic cleaner I can see a cleaning session for the rest sometime later this year

Just checked mine and they are all free but the 4.5mm - 5.1mm one is called Adolf.

No, it tried but just goes round in circles due to the uneven weight.
