after asking for help from several kind people over the last couple of years ,with no success none of us have been able to post photos onto this site , luckily & not wanting to be defeated,my partners nephew came to the rescue over the holidays and worked out how to ,so look out I've just posted my first ( BRITISH STEEL) ,photo,so will now be jamming up the airwaves with my new ability.

Thats impressive at 94, i have enough trouble trying to remembering all the passwords and security questions just to log on to my internet banking.Your're not alone, I had to show my 94y/o grandad how to print a page from his online banking earlier, third time ive shown him now.

I'm 67 & on line banking & such leaves me cold! Luckily my wife is pretty computer savvy. Some years ago, at work the others were all talking about spreadsheets to do household accounts & such, I was asked how do you do yours. My answer, I put the card in the hole in the wall & if money comes out its ok. I don't think it was the answer they expected or wanted.
I'm really not quite that Luddite as I used a computer for many years at work, but everything I need I can do on the iPad, so that suits me fine.

im 54,sure i always use google,but that's basic stuff.
I have also been building my own computers since the ZX80, I do online banking as a matter of course and repair iPhones and tablets when I need to. I like technology and try to keep up. I have a couple of friends who I help out with computers, it's funny some of the things that happen to them from basic stuff like switching it off and on again, wifi problems to some particularly nasty ransomware that wants a lot of money to release your files after locking them. Luckily the files were backed up (architect drawings) so a format got him going again. Good on the OP for persevering and putting his thread up for us.

I'm also 67 & on the contrary I think online banking is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I used have to go down to my bank some 3 miles distant, stand in a huge queue, just to pay the most mundane of bills. I now do it from the comfort of my home. Brilliant.
The next target is the supermarket but here I must admit I'm completely against self checkouts. I did read some considerable time ago the supermarkets were experimenting with RFID (radio frequency ID) tags that would allow the whole basket to be scanned without removing a single item. Bring it on I can't wait.
Now if only I could find a way past the Doctors receptionist my life's aspirations would be totally met!!

My GP practice has that too, but the first action after getting it (three years ago!) was to disable the book appointment function. The only way to get one is to ring constantly from 08:30 onwards (one line only) & hope you get through. Once the appointments for that day are filled, you have to try again the following day as you can't book beyond that day. Perhaps the fact it was a four doctor practice & it's been running with only 2 for the last ten years might have something to do with it. Good news is I can book a repeat prescription online , that presumes of course I can get into see the doctor in the first place.Since my local GP joined the MMP we can now book appointments online
Doctors seem to be the last business in the UK to see their patients as "customers" & seem to think it's a priveledge for you to see them despite us paying handsomely for the "priveledge"

Banking is a breeze and transferring money around and payments is an absolute winner, car and house insurance comparisons have saved me a fortune over the years and of course there is the ease of finding stuff and purchasing, then complaining about the poor selection of shops in town
I still do buy locally if I can and don't mind paying a little extra but it's getting increasingly difficult.
I still use my tower system, screen and keyboard though, can't get away with using a tablet apart for basic stuff and e book reading.
