Recently I was burned buying about £4000 worth of machine parts, the company went into liquidation after I had paid.So then its another £4K to get to where I started from.
I was pondering the idea of buying a mill already and was keen on learning how to use one.I had to buy two new feed rollers for a big wood chipper and a drive cog for the same machine,I think the feed rollers could have been trued and sharpened and the cog actually made. There were a few other parts there as well but that was the main.I dont have the skill to do it myself but I know a retired machinist and a mate is a former gunsmith who is familiar with Mills and has a bit lathe in his garage.
Question is: How much in Pounds would I need to outlay in order to have a decent mill and enough tooling to be useful for general usage ?
