I`ve already had it according to HMRC but apparently theres another not often claimed for allowance, if you wear a uniform as part of your job and you have to wash it yourself you can claim the costs back up to 6 yrs.I can't imagine it will be much even for my 5 yrs with this company but it will do more good in my pocket than Gordon Browns![]()
Yep,the woman who I spoke to checked and the computer said noI asked the question as well, they said they would look into it, but did say that if on PAYE for 2000 -2001 it should have been included in the tax code,

Is that just tax relief on the costs though?
AND, if you're self employed and earn under something or other (maybe 11 grand?) you may be eligible for tax credit. If you're one of those sensible self employed types who pays bugger all tax, then tax credit could be a couple of ton a month!
That's right £11,000 pa for a 40 hour week, over 50 years old. It counts towards taxable income.
On the forms they ask you to confirm that you're still eligible for the over 50 allowance, like you're getting younger each year!
