I am extending My driveway, old Tarmac is 34 years old but in good condition, obviously when I lay the new tarmac it’ll be like night and day so was wondering if these tarmac sealers are any good, heard that I’d have to pressure wash tarmac and wait for a couple of hot summer days before applying, so to cut along story short any success stories out there and what brand to use and how long does this stuff last?
Kind regards,
Kevan.
Why not base tarmac up to the level of the existing and then apply a finishing layer over the lot. Obviously will cost a little more but you'd get the effect you desire.

Hi CompoSimmonite,
The old tarmac is too large an area to tarmac on top of or dig out and completely replace, the picture shows the existing tarmac in a sorry state but that was when I had the mini digger in and before I cleaned it, so it’s really just to make the two look the same if that’s possible.
In my honest opinion .I wouldn't bother with the sealer. It's just a paint that looks awful after a while. Get you new area based and topped and make sure the joint is bitumen sealed .then let nature do it's thing. It will soon loose it's colour.
