Just unearthed these in a box of junk that was left in my unit. Do they still have a use these days?

Definitely imperial, bolts are BSF!!

Exelent things, I would call them Q max cutters. I would call a tank cutter, one of those antiquated single pint hole saw contraptions.

I've got a set in a leather case do cut a lovely hole !

I've got a set of greenlee ones .
Very handy - when you need them .

Nice cutters, you can also swap the bits around to make a crude dimple die or swagey hole!

They are great for making clean holes in thin sheet. Not as quick as a hole saw but make nice holes that don’t need much (if any)cleaning up after.

As above I’ve always known them as qmax cutters.

I bought a few for 1mm galv sheet, but made a little hydraulic press to hold them. Bit faster than the bolt.

We used to use square ones at a place I worked for punching holes for a gauge (I think) in a panel.

Round ones also. Both worked off a enerpac type affair.

It was oilfield stuff.

Get some thrust bearings to suit the bolt and lube everything up and they will wizz through driven by a cordless drill.
Quick way if you need a load of holes with minimal clean up.

Definitely. As mentioned, good for holes in thin sheet/panels.

I've recently discovered these, and they're very useful indeed, I find them much better than a step drill and my power drill breathes a sigh of relief, too.
