Tack cloths

What are these for ?

They are very tacky and was told they are for degreasing panels before painting, however i feel they would leave a sticky residue which i think is no good for painting ??

They're meant to remove dust etc. prior to painting.

I've never known them to react with any type of paint

So would you suggest i use degreaser with some blue paper towel after the dust has come off with these tack cloths ?

It's not so much of a reaction more the tacky stuff would go on top of the key which would result in the top coat not sticking very well ?

Use a panel wipe solution first and as the last thing you do before paint use the tack cloth, literally just before you are about to spray.

Dont rub hard with them, just hold loosely as if you are dusting.

I know they feel waxy/sticky but they won't leave a residue unless you press too hard and they pick up all the bits of dust etc.
