My bro-in-law was on about this at the weekend, he's a complete nerdy geek type (and a huge Apple fan) and he was saying that every review he's seen has been positive. Apparently Tesco have also not 'locked' it to their applications so you can delete stuff you don't want and add stuff you do. I think at the very worst you end up with a small 'T' logo in the corner that takes you direct to, well, Tesco Direct

I have just got the new Google Nexus 7 for work use mainly, really pleased with it apart from a couple of irritating points which seem to be Android issues rather than the hardware:
No home page icon in Chrome.
Cannot send group emails in Gmail.
Android does not seem as slick as the Apple OS but I went for the former on a tablet as it seems to cope better with spread sheet editing.
Just ordered a combined bluetooth keyboard and case for £18, that's the beauty of buying a popular make is that there is plenty of cheap accessories and help forums on the product.

I've got a Archos 101 tablet. It's "OK" but doesn't play catch up TV, You Tube etc as missing some software but unable to download the missing aspect so haven't used it for ages. A cheap net book bought as back up for main laptop is far more useful.

Ill second your review but stronger. The archos is great, if you want to prop open a door
The processor is well underspec'd and it is lacking in ram. If you dont charge them every few days they get stuck in a charging loop that requires some arcane sequence of buttons while stuffing the power plug in and out at set times to get to the hardware boot menu to make it charge. Oh and they dont like the cold, so if you leave it in a unheated building overnight on a winters night, expect to have to repeat the charging button nonsense above.

You can reflash with cyanogenmod firmware, and the streamed content then works, but its so slow its like watching stop frame animation. Hardware just can't cope with it, and because its all secret sauce closed proprietory stuff, the hardware video acceleration which could possibly help out doesnt work on any other firmware but the crippled original one which cant play half the content anyway. And thats after you have jumped through hoops to get the play store on them, because archos didnt want to pay the couple of quid licensing fee google charge OEM's to have play installed (and also why all those budget chinese ones dont come with the playstore out the box too)
As you might tell I have two of them, propping doors open, its put me off tablets for life I think.

Wendle, glad you found one you like, but if the form factor gets too annoying, you could always buck the trend and use the laptop, leaving the tablet's to the facebook game masses. Its a tool, it should just compliment what you need it to do without fighting it...
