Synergic MIG welders are the ones where you enter the wire type and size, gas type, and material type and thickness and the machine sets the volts and wire speed (and often the inductance).
They tend to let you store programs so if you are on the mild steel 0.8mm wire program all you need to to is set the thickness.
On a normal machine you would set the volts and wire speed manually.
