I know if building a car to get a new plate you have to prove a certain amount of the parts are brand new and not refurbished. I remember seeing an 08/09 plate classic mini and the shell/suspension/running gear was all brand new and the engine was a refurb so i guess they would need all the reciepts if you wanted a new plate for it.
Are you building a bike from scratch or a kit ? I assume if you build from scratch with no donor as such you would just be issued a Q plate
The MSVA manual is online, I've had a read and don't recall anything like that and never heard of it. Not to say it's not right though. Best place to look after skimming the manual is Britchopper, and if in doubt ask Sooze there - she's the font of all MSVA knowledge.
Cheers Guys. I was a bit sceptical about what he said, but he said that he had talked to people that had to prove where everything came from. Including the Tube and plate used in the manufacturer of the frame.
If that's the case it's bloody ridiculous, I've got steel in stock I've had for yrs, I haven't a clue where it came from
Take pictures of the construction and show them building it. You don't need receipts for MSVA but you do to register a vehicle for the first time. Saying that, I took an envelope full of receipts when I registered the Locost and they never even looked in it.
