I know its a bit of an old machine but its always worked no problem. Have been using it on a high setting recently to make box section frame with no problems.
Has some 18 gauge sheet metalwork to do yesterday.
Set it up on low setting and 3 on wirefeed.
Noticed that the swan neck & the wire shorted out on the workpiece - without me pressing the trigger - unusual I thought.
However started work and noticed the wirefeed erratic. Checked the wire spool, rollers and tension all seemed OK.
Then the wirefeed would not work at all. Stripped gun checked contacts and all seemed OK. Switched welder back on an the rollers cut in for a split second. Turned it off and repeated same thing happened. Did it for 3rd time and feed rollers cut in for about 10 seconds ( I had slacked tension so wire didnt spool out of torch), then cut out. Pressing the button on torch didnt stop or start this random spooling. Tried the On/Off a few more times and again there was an initial cut in on the rollers then again the feed rollers cut in for 10 seconds then stopped.
Any ideas ??
Thanks
