Supplying The Butters

Ive got round to installing the shed,(ex larder- coal barn building which is built as part of the house) with a 16a supply for my Butters 190, any body have a reccomendenation as to what mcb to use a class B, C or D , my initial thought is a 20A class C, ?

Definitely a C. As for its current rating, that would depend on what the cross-sectional area of the cable is and how it's fitted (free air or in plaster).

Remember the breaker's there to protect the fixed wiring, not the welder.

Thanks, the cable is 2.5 and about 15ff long mounted in conduit, with only 1 wall to go through

Have a look here - looks like it would be rated at 24A so a C20 would be fine.

No worries.

I suppose that I should add that as it's a new circuit then it's notifiable to building control
