I`ve just started to use a much larger nationwide supplier, mainly due to the fact that there a lot cheaper.
Having a few issue with them already. Order was placed on the 20th, they were out of stock of some of the things I needed, and I was told that the whole order would be delivered in one go, on the 27th, this was fine, it gave me time to clear some space.
Much to my suprise, I got an email from them yesterday saying that they trying to deliver, but no-one was home. I phoned them and said that I wasnt expecting it so I wasn`t here, and made sure that it was booked for the 27th so this wouldnt happen again. I later found out that they hadn`t even been to the right place, and had tried to deliver next door. So I sent them an email to confirm my address, making it quite clear which one was me.
Anyway, and hour or so ago I get a call, "we`re outside, where are you?" I go out, and low and behold there in the wrong place again, and i`m pretty sure it`s still not the 27th. They only had part of the order with them yet again as well, including some 15mm plate which I had no way of moving.
I have accepted what can be, and sent the plate back to be delivered with the rest of the order (ON THE 27TH). He said i`m likely to incurr a charge for this. WHY, you turn up on the wrong date, with only part of the order, too the wrong address, and with no way of even unloading it (he was planning on throwing it off the side of the truck, not bloody likely, and ****** it up most likely)
Is this just the norm for larger companies? And where do I stand regarding the fee`s that they plan on charging for restocking/redelivery? Any help guys? I`m not naming the company, but I wouldn`t be suprised if a lot of you bigger guys use them, and there especially useful for egtting prices online.
