So today I picked up this.
It's a gamble with regards the motor, but I have a local firm thats good.
So stripped it down to bring it home, crickey it's heavy.
It's missing control gear, which is a shame but not a show stopper.
interestingly it has 2 fixtures in either side of the stand, so maybe
the stand was universal for other products
It has 2 inspection covers on the left side (front & back).
Had the covers off and could see what looked like carbon bushes.
There is some black electrical tape and doggy wiring.
So off to the local firm, the owner on initial inspection thinks it's a DC motor !!
No plates or any way of dating it except a small decal (image below) (I am thinking pre ww2)
I'd be interested if anyone can point me towards anything with regards dating it or other imagery.
It would be nice to see what switch gear it had.
