Ok I've been reading up on stuff I likes a controlled heat so id run these on 115 ish but in the vert and flat I struggled to get a bead I was lets say happy with no photos I'm afraid. But because they have iron powder content in da flux does that make it a high recovery rod and I should move quicker or bin them and buy comets

I've done vertical up with those, they are very good electrodes, but need to be kept very dry. They also need more amps than 6013's.

I've done a practice piece but felt I had to weave wide to control

I think what I'm asking is due to the iron powder content does this increase heat so I should move quicker coz its burning quicker

Ok had another go yesterday two runs flat nice but I tacked it vertical and it was horrible it was six mm plate but it felt wrong was the plate getting to hot I was using 110 amps it just felt to hot tight arc but struggled to run them at 90 amps infact I had sag like it was two hot

You need thicker plate to take the heat when practising 7018.try get some 10mm+

I've got some in me back garden I'll wack some up later so 6mm plate 2.5 will suffice
