now, i know this mig welding lark can get a bit hot on the finger ends and what have you, but after living out here in spain for three years and wwelding back together one of the local farmers tractor thingies, jesus i was nearly melting. overalls on, steel capped boots, left hand glove only (most of you will know why), head cover and auto mask, my god they thought i was i was completely off my head. that is, until i handed him the torch and let him have go. yes i made him wear the helmet, i´m not that bad, but i didn´t let wear the glove, he he.
this seems like quite a good forum site. iv´e been welding with mig and arc for around 20 years now, got a really classy nu-mig 180, only had to replace almost all of it. jesus they could not have built a worse welder if they had tried. anyone else got one. i had major problems to start with, mainly with the gas solenoid, but when i lived in Barnsley, i took a drive over to Doncaster one day and paid them a personal visit. the solenoid was replaced, 1 more was going to be given me just in case, but after some not very polite words from me, i ended up with 6, handful of tips and a couple of shrouds.
never had much problem with liner or any of the circuitry, although the power switch is now permanantly set to number three. could really do with one of those if anyone has one.
