I'm not scared of stuff from china, 90% of things are, however good support/warranty is a must.

What would be a good choice of machine? Foot pedal would be good too.

I see the R-tech 161's are on offer with a foot pedal for £778 including vat, however I'm sure they had the same offer for about £700 a few months ago!?

r-tech sometimes put machines that have been on display on their ebay shop, cheaper but still with full warrantees might be worth a look.

I'm looking forward to see what makes a unit shop soiled for the saving

its the support that makes it a 'goer' for me. I also had a look at migtigarc and they had a mig set that looked like the portamig one but about £100 cheaper, am I right in thinking that they're all made in the same place?
