Stuff I promised to finish...and finished!!!

Today I finally finished a model car I'd promised to get done for a long time.

There's a back story to this...started by a friend of a friend who never got the chance to finish it sadly ....came to me as a box of bits with 1/3 of the parts missing.

Got me thinking...I bet we've all got long lists of things we've promised to get done and finally get the satisfaction of ticking off the list!

Finally hanging on the wall...job finished!

Same builder as the Delorean...came to me as a box of bits and I promised to fix it which I now have!

The paintwork on it is fantastic...I decided to add the missing pieces but not to paint them just to acknowledge what he'd done before me whilst still completing the build. Luckily this one had 99% of the parts to complete the build.

And I made a start on the loft too today..
That's going to be rather a slow burn me thinks!

I should have added...I don't mind this thread being hijacked by others who have done the same.

...I like that (rare) feeling of achievement when you finally get something finished. Often the holdup is a missing part...which suddenly turns up!

your hoping arnt you i dont think ive ever finshed a project as most on here are the same yes we finsh it but then think we could have done better or while we are now board extend the project by a few more steps#

plus add to that 15 to 50 projects as well

Oh wait I'm just doing it again!...I think I'm just saying the same thing but differently .

In the spirit of the thread I finished packing this today...jus another few dozen to go.

It took about 2 hrs to pack the first box...I distracted myself looking for a box sorting app.

In the end I worked out that I could simply use my Google drive...link on my phone to a "boxes" folder...sub folders for the boxes with pics and lists of contents in each box folder. Best of all it's easily searchable.

It's working quite well....1 box in!

It's lovely that you've finished a project someone else started. Must make it feel a bit special knowing they were unable to finish it themselves. Proper sense of completion and all that.

Another one off the list...did a full strip down and rebuild.

This is 20+ years old...lovely thoughtful design with everything designed to be disassembled...parts still available too!

It's almost a shame I gave up coffee decades ago!
