Strengthening plate.

Morning everyone.
I have got to make a strengthening plate for my saxo race car. It reinforces the floor pan to the wishbone mounting points. I have seen it on a couple of rally cars. The plate I can make. Am a bit unsure of material thickness. 1.5 or 2mm to make the plate.. any you guys done anything similar. Pic below is the plate I will make.

haven't made one before, and no experience with them tbh... but I'd go with 2mm

naff all weight difference (unless you're going crazy with weight?)

1.5is probably enough, 2mm is deffo enough.... go with 2mm for piece of mind or you'll always be thinking "should I have used 2mm?"

That's what I was thinking. But yes your right.. 2mm will definitely do the job..cheers.

Which plate are you adding? Is it the one that goes from the bulkhead to the footwell, roughly where your feet sit?

Yes. The picture I posted has the plate I will make.

Have just found out the plate in the picture is 1.5 mm.
