best laugh I saw was a static being towed down the a66 and the axle had overheated snappedJust make sure yer mate does not over tighten the straps cos my late dad seen plenty of statics from his that were over done by the "site pros" that would then have gaps in the panels. Reason being as they are a single axle they tend to bow like a banana. Also they would let them RUN off the transport trailer and into there spot (to avoid messing with a tug) and this would also flex the frame badly.

Soon after we were married, we shared a static caravan for a holiday with a friend & his girlfriend. Let's say they were somewhat energetic, they kept us awake most of the night & the van was an old one just sat on blocks, rather unsteadily. At the end of a fortnight the van was in a different position, just about to drop off the edge. He's sadly gone now, but when the family were looking for anecdotes to read out at the funeral & I thought, no can't quote that one.Ooops!

the one i live in has a 50mm by 50mm angle hammer in in each corner 900mm long and only 100mm out of the ground. it then has galv single strand wire wrapped between the ground peg and the caravans chassis 6 times up and 6 times down and then twisted around its self to hold it self tight
