Can anyone help me with a very strange problem I have with the weld from my Eland 130.
When I weld for around a 10mm line or so and release the trigger I have noticed that the weld continues to melt for a couple of seconds after and grows an upright nib onto the weld about 3/4 mm in height. I have never seen this happen before as usually once the trigger is released there is no further movement or flow in the weld afterwards. I also am getting some splatter which I would say is more than normal.
I have stripped the welder completely to check it through recently and gas flow/ rate seems fine ( have held trigger and get a constant audible hiss). It also did this with the last of the previous gas as supplied by Air Products, so I have ruled out the gas.
My only other thought is that the wire is contaminated/ wrong grade of steel or has impurities in it. Has anyone else experienced this??
The wire is 0.6 and supplied by Steeley ( but I suspect probably manufactured in China so who knows what the quality is like!)
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!
