Strange tools

I have been looking at some tools on home made tools channel. Some have cropped up from a french web site.

I am interested to know what this one is used for .

That looks like it puts a hemisphere on the end of the shaft....a ball turning tool.

Surely it's just a radius tool but in the vertical plane and not the normal horizontal type?

That was what threw me i think. lol

Quite easy to make using a boring head with a straight skank and bearing block fixed to the toolpost.

Cant cut concave though
