Strange email

I had a strange email today.

I cant see what they are gaining. But they have my address and phone number and obviously email.

I checked the details it purports to come from but not much detail on google.

Any ideas? Apart from not clicking on the link....

They want you to click on the link to cancel the order (that you didn't make and doesn't exist) Whatever is at the end of the link or download will be the nasty bit.

Hi, It's sent to a speculative Email address, If you answer they know it's a 'live' address. So don't.

notice the address in your email is now ladleandspice.com which has no homepage.

And that link from ladleandspice.com in your email produces a .ZIP file containing 2 files, I've saved them to scan tomorrow, but I guess a trojan

Well this i expect. BUT the link does not seem to be a real domain...and its secure. Https. Not that i have clicked it .....i am used to ignoring emails but i can usually work out what they are trying to do....

remember Yahoo, talk talk, NHS, all have been hacked
so your details are out there
you buy off the net so your name address email phone is all out there

Check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ (which is a legit site) - enter your email address and it will tell you whether it was snaffled by one of the large massive huge data breaches over the last few years.

Email addresses, full names and passwords are bundled up and sold by the hundreds of millions.
