stone chip or schultz?

Hi, i'm doing some welding on a old discovery, now i'm painting the joints with weld through primer when i'm finishing on a night. Now i dont want it to go rusty anytime soon. so whats the best way of keeping it good.
None of the panels need a top coat of paint, they are either floor sills or inner wings.

The only reason for asking is i'm sure i read that 1 type is porus and needs a top coat over.
Is that right?

stone chip you would topcoat
schutz you dont, dont forget that the voids of the repaired panel will also need treating or they will simply rust inside out

Whats the best thing to do with the voids? on the edges of the joints i was going to run some sealer down.

seamsealer is good for joints and my schutz gun came with a flexible tube attachment for spraying inside pannels and voids

I would use stonechip protect, I've had nothing but problems with schultz as it likes to peel off & is really only supposed to be applied over a sound primer & topcoat (if you read the can). I tend to use Roberlo silltex800, it doesn't need a top coat if 2 coats are applied over a primer, it costs about the same as schultz, and is through dry in about 4 hours. Plus this is closer to the original finish anyway.

Some stone chip does need to be over coated as Snooper says, but it'll say on the tin.
