Stock fencing lancashire

Anyone got any ideas of any reliable fencers? I need a run of about 130ish meters of 6ft deer fence round my paddock to replace the goosed stock fence. Cannot get anyone to come look at it for love nor money

If I had the time, and if the field next door didn’t have a load of cattle in, and I still had any fencing gear left, I might have.

He hasn't done any fencing for me personally but Mick was my neighbour when I used to hire some yard space. He's a decent bloke and I'd have no issue getting him to do any work for me if I needed it.

Fencing supplies are a problem at the moment, a few fencing guys I know have stopped quoting because they cant be certain of getting the gear.

I’d settle if they told me that, but as it stands the previous owner left the fence in rag order and I’ve had 3 bullocks sauntering down the drive so far since we moved in a fortnight ago, so I need it sorting ASAP, and I want something tall so the dogs are safe

Isnt it the stock owners responsibility to keep his stock in. Or is it your fence?

Klipex is the long term solution, but lie down when you ask the price. Failing that go for creosote posts

That section is my fence, however tonight’s entertainment was provided by the “tree surgeons” that felled a neighbours tree and had left all the brash on the end of my drive on Saturday, to pick up tues (we own the whole drive, the neighbours have right of access). Turns out what in fact it was there for was to cover the hole they’d put in the stock fence there when they dropped a limb on it. I’m now soaking and smell mildly of cow but at least they’re all back in another field bow

A good stock fence will keep beasts a bay and dogs safe. Deer fencing is dear

Have you met the farmer yet? Often round here we put a string of barbed on separate posts or spacer brackets off the main posts a few foot into the field so sheep can graze under the barbed, but cattle can't get near enough to damage the main fence as easily. Obviously you still need the fencing contractor for this but might be a bit less intrusive visually than a 6ft deer fence.

The joys of country living. But all worth while. As said normal stock fencing for your dogs should be fine. Normal posts are 5'6, If your worried use 6ft and a double wire on top, or a rail. But as said earlier for cows you need a barb or single electric wire inside to stop cows pushing against it.

Has your neighbour the farmer not got a knocker. Most have.

March fences are usually 50/50.
Is the owner of the stock helping put them back every time?
You have just moved did you damage some fencing when moving in?
