Has anyone else used one?
ordered one that came today,and its pretty much useless.
its 'patented mechanism' of rotating the tungsten isnt actually a mechanism at all.it just loosely holds it and you need to angle it to the side for the direction of the grinding wheel to turn it for you.i.e. it will only grind it laterally,not longitudinally.
waiting for a response from the seller,its getting sent straight back

yeah thats it
if you hold it side on it rotates,but if grinding the proper way it just results in flat spots most of the time

You need a slight angle for it to work.

had a go again,its more suited to the grinding belt than the wheel

i can do kind of rough grinding to get the right tip profile at 90 degrees
you can carefully reduce the angle once its spinning,closer to where it needs to be
but as soon as you get to ~45 degrees it starts to slow down
~30 degrees and it stops,resulting in a flat spot,and your back to square 1

if it needed say 5-10 degrees it would probably do,but its no where near it.
the grain patterns on the point are convoluted

bit like re-inventing the wheel really.
think i can sharpen a tungsten in less time if you add loading and unloading the thing.
each to their own.

My mate bought one and gave it to me because he couldn't get it to work, its crap, a pin vice is just as good or ya fingers !!!

I just use a cordless drill to spin the tungstens on the wheel

one of the reasons i bought it was for short tungstens.this is just a gimmick

I bought one in a moment of temporary insanity. It looks really really good in my toolbox, about all what its good for.
My own fault though, I should have known, typical US bubblegum quality and design.
