sticky stuff off the welder!

Hello all,
I,ve got a welder that has parcel tape/tape glue on it and I can't seem to shift it. Is there any liquid I could use to get the tape/glue off without damaging the paint on the welder itself? I was considering acetone. Any help appreciated.

You could try WD40 as that is good for glue/tar removal too.

Lighter Fluid Is Normally Good For Sticky Tape And Labels.

Acetone is fairly good but extended use may remove paint, keep checking the rag for paint colour..any sign at all and stop.

Acetone will lift paint! Isopropyl Alcohol may help. White spirits etc. I'd test them on a small inconspicuous spot beforehand

Acetone is a nail varnish remover,ok on glass but paint...I dunno?

Petrol or Lighter Petrol as suggested with a vigorous rubbing with a cloth.

Duraglit wadding will soften tape adhesive residue without harming paint,

Acetone- depends on the paint. I use some that acetone won't touch, others it'll wipe off.
