Mrs A needs a vac for her workshop, preferably one of those stick jobbies and cordless - just had a squint on Amazon and they want (not that I’d buy one) 950 euros for a Dyson!! Any recommendations please?

My wife reckons the vacuum cleaner is my department as it's a power tool

Door bell rings, mates wife goes to answer, leaving the 3 year old in front room where she had been Vacuuming (you knew I would not take post of the subject) picks up parcel, lights go out with a bang, . rushes into front room to find 3 year old had decided to help with the vacuuming, slight problem the Hetty was now full of the fish tank water

Have a look at Beldray. Their are two versions. One is straight suction and the other has a motorised brush head. Pure suction is great on hard floors. I have this version. It is not so good for fluff on carpets but works ok for dust and non fluffy bits. The motorised brush head version is great on carpets and picks up fluff. Both versions are under £100.

I had a look at these and bought the motorised version. It's just finished charging and we've had a go with it, all looks favourable. I wouldn't buy a Dyson as I'm too tight and anyway it's a matter of principle I don't like his methods. Our last Hoover is still working and it is an actual Hoover cost £53 from the Co-op.

We bought a Shark last year its ****e, fine on carpet hopeless for the car and doest get the last 10mm of carpet near furniture skirting ec. Good job I keep the old Dyson, have you considered a Ebay refurbished one as they are cheaper?
My last one was from the carboot for £5 stuck a new battery on it and its working fine

But it needs recharging after a couple of hour use if it is in tip top condition . You can pick up Dyson stick cleaners off Freecycle that need a dep degunge . Watch several British You Tubes & take lots of yopur own photos at each step of disassembly & cleaning so you know how to strip , clean & correctly reassemble them
I've done three over the last four years or so . two were gummed up with soft hairs and flour that caked & set when it was run over a damp kitchen floor.
