Prices are quantity driven, unless buying by the truck load expect a kick in the man vegetables. That said if you make an inquiry these days and dont follow it up with a purchase they always seem to come back with further discounts especially if they think you are going elsewhere.

Yeah, I recently bought some 28mm OSB board for some shelving in my store, that made me cough too, have I been asleep all these years and suddenly woke to a parallel world somewhere

Roadside timber prices have over doubled in the last eighteen months Sean, I am surprised its taken so long to affect the prices at the merchants.

I tip from one of our members, is to shop on line and put what you require in your basket and just leave it there, next day they usually come to you with a better price.

I had a urgent requirement for some Hardboard to complete a job at the weekend, Wickes had stock at over £10 a sheet.
Felt like i had just been robed as i walked out.

£80 for two sheets of 15mm ply! Not many places stock it.!

I'm guessing with the backlash against plastics the demand for paper, cardboard and wood packaging is going to push the timber price up even more.

I believe that its the demand for wood for biomass plants that has pushed up timber prices.
