Steel in peterborough

Having trawled through the thread meant for this question I have not found an answer;

Can anyone recommend some place(s) that:

a). might give me for beer tokens some scrap offcuts etc...

b). Might sell small quantities of steel to a hobby user

c). Somewhere to get hold of plate for a bennch top less than robbery that I heard I will end up paying if bought new... Second hand would work, dont mind cleaning something up as long as its big and thick enough for the job.

Hi,

try your local Yellow Pages. I asked at the local scrapyard about buying off-cuts and he wasn't interested, too much hassle, not enough income for him.

I've heard in the past that bus companies are a good source of alluminium...

so maybe someone local who repairs trucks, etc, may be able to help.

Other than that the only suggestion I could make would be a slow drive around your local trading estates on a Sunday looking for potential sites to approach. Any company that looks like they use metal...
