Steam and Vintage Tractor working day

If any of you steam and tractor buffs want a day out later this month, we are holding our Vintage Working Day on Saturday 20th Sept.
Entrance is FREE, we just ask that you put a donation in one of the buckets and all proceeds this year are going to the childrens cancer charity CLIC Sergeant.
Location is Heale Farm, Ashreigney, Devon (about mid-way between Exeter and Barnstaple) and will be signposted from the radar station, starts about 11.00.
There will be a pair of Fowler steam ploughs working along with a host of older tractors (weather permitting).

Was that at the George, Longbridge Deverill? They often have shows in the field next door. Never been to any but I've driven past when they've been on.

Working day was a reasonable success, although the steamers were unable to attend because of the previous weather. On the day we had over 35 old tractors working and ploughed up around 20 - 25 acres.
The day raised approx £260 for Clic Sargeant (childrens cancer charity), which will be added to the money raised from our earlier vintage gathering. We have one more event this year, a Country music concert on Friday 10th Oct at Burrington, and by the end of that we should be able to donate around £2000.00 to Clic Sargeant.

I passed a steam engine on the road in Liverpool yesterday, it was going surprisingly fast too!

Sorry to drag this up again, but as you let me post the details here I thought you might like to know that, as a result of our fundraising events this year we were able to donate £2200.00 to the children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent. I presented the cheque to their North Devon representative yesterday (Wednesday) at a small supper party organised for the purpose.
