Stationary engine.

Afternoon all,
Ive just been given a stationary engine by my best mates neighbour,ive only had a quick look at it in a shed but its all there and he had a running a couple of years ago so yet another "piece of junk" (swmbo) to add to the collection

As soon as i retrieve it i shall take pics and try and find some names etc.

I still have a fond little place for this sort of thing. What is it, and old hit and miss type thing or something more modern. Looking forward to the pics.

Im not sure how old or what it is yet,he couldnt remember and i couldnt see it very well in dimly lit shed but ill hopefully bring it home in the next few days and take some pics etc. He seems to think its at least 40 years old but couldnt for the life of him remember the maker.

Im going to restore it and maybe show it if its anywhere near good enough.

Hi,

a mate had something like that a few years back, so I went to have a look. He spun the flywheel by hand and it fired up, <thud>, <thud>, <thud> at one second intervals...

but it wasn't so 'static' now, bounced all over the garage.

Then I realised that the garage floor, walls and roof was also bouncing!

Interesting kit!

Peter i suspect this could be a bit of a rumbler,i know its petrol powered and that its currently sitting a a wooden frame that is slowly rotting away,im planning to make a up something in steel with some wooden bearers (possibly some oak that i have) so that i can wheel it about the place.

MK the lathe is wired for 240v luckily so i wont need to run belts down the garden to annoy the neighbours even more (half of them do'nt like me now)
