Hi, Guys & Gals I am the new owner of two of these lovely machines and I have lots of stupid questions?
I was on the look-out for a Starite Bandit 12S10 and noticed they flew off eBay pretty fast they don't hang around so when one came up I made an offer 24 Hours later the person did not respond a second one came up and I made an offer on that one as well, within minutes the guy responded deal done, an Hour later the other one's owner responded and accepted my offer so now I have two Starite Bandit 12S10's
I decided to restore one of them to Factory Fresh condition whilst I service and put the other one to work
I have seen some posts on the oil change so want to check if my understanding is correct from the below
Bigger bolt 1 at the bottom is that the Drain
Number 2 further up is that the refill?
Both are weeping oil so I am thinking of replacing the oil seal, any recommended Spares suppliers?
What would you guys recommend to flush the gearbox with?
Next batch of Questions
I was lucky enough one of the owners had everything all manuals so I scanned it in as a soft copy
He had extra blade guides but he lost part 14 so the Guide holder suffered I haven't noticed any adverse effects but would like to replace it or am I OCD?
I temporarily borrowed part 14 from the other saw otherwise it runs and works as expected any saw blade sellers that you guys have good dealings with apart from the Ebay sellers
Would you guys say that these tires have had it or are they still serviceable?
What is the best way to remove the old tires cut them and slowly remove them with a knife I assume they are glued on or is there a much easier way?
What glue must I use for the tyres
Can anyone recommend a good quality paint that matches OE paint colours?
What glue do you guys use to re-attach machine labels the below machine's label is pealing?
Is there any way to look up these machines serial Numbers to determine the year of manufacture
One of the saws came with the delivery date etc. in that respect I know the year of manufacture the second machine's serial number is about 9112 so I guess about 5 maybe 6 years younger although it has the more rounded handle
